Dr. Kolawole Olatunbosun is a medical doctor with robust experience in public health program design, planning and implementation. He has over a decade’s experience in the public health sector and has managed, coordinated and implemented different CDC, Global Fund and USAID funded projects in diverse communities in Nigeria. Kolawole also has multi – country experience providing technical support for public health interventions in Nigeria, Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa.
Kola’s field of expertise lies in the public health management of infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and (of recent) COVID – 19 and Health Systems Strengthening. Kolawole also has extensive experience in strategy formulation and implementation for attaining public health goals in resource constrained communities. Since 2019, Kola has worked in providing technical and operational leadership to the HIV Treatment Surge intervention towards attaining epidemic control across Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria.
He has served as Chief of Party for TWO donor funded public health interventions in Nigeria. He currently works in international development heading to chart the world’s pathway into a healthy future. Dr Olatunbosun also provides medical advisory and consultancy services in the areas of public health and international development.
Dr Olatunbosun completed his studies in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and obtained a DipPH and MPH at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the University of Western Cape respectively. Additionally, he holds a Diploma in HIV Management from the South African Colleges of Medicine as well as certification in Program Management for Development Professionals (PMDPro).
Kola has extensive research experience and has made various academic presentations at various local and international conferences. He is also a published author with two books to his credit.
